What Are They?

A Day in the Life of an HCP vignette is a high-level overview of a specific physician specialty, designed for representatives who do not currently sell in that specialty area. The vignettes include an outline of a typical day in the office for the specialist.

Day in the Life vignettes include the following information for each specialty:

• HCP Background
  • Education – College, internships, fellowships, academic path vs community, continuing education
  • Conditions treated – Common diseases they see, rare diseases they see, possible subspecialties
  • Professional associations
  • Interaction with other healthcare professionals/allied professionals
• HCP Office
  • Practice overview and typical day – Review the type of practice or setting where the doctor works and what a typical day looks like for them
  • Multidisciplinary team – Roles and responsibilities of others in the office, including advanced practitioners, MAs, nurses, and office support staff
  • Pharma relationships
  • Payor influence – Does payor affect first-line treatment, second-line treatment, etc? How does payor impact the treatment plan?
  • How does the office accommodate the administration of products with different treatment modalities (infused vs oral)?
  • Equipment – Special tools and instruments in the office (eg, infusion chair, costly retinopathy tools, etc)
• Patient/Caregiver
  • Patient/caregiver journey – Referrals; how long did it take for diagnosis?
  • Diagnostic tests – Some of the most common diagnostic tests that the specialist may order or review
  • Treatment modalities and guidelines – Review common treatment modalities and guidelines for the most common conditions they treat
  • Disease impact – What is the impact of the disease on quality of life? What chronic conditions are associated with the disease, and what are the consequences of treatment or of not seeking treatment?
