• Get Hands-On: Jumping in to help design or tweak things when needed to make sure it all looks great.
• Handle Technical Art: Creating or overseeing detailed medical illustrations and visuals for technical data to ensure accuracy and clarity.
• Set the Creative Vision: Coming up up with and guiding the overall look and feel for projects, keeping everything on-brand.
• Lead the Team: Supporting and guiding the creative team, giving feedback and making sure everyone’s on track.
• Stay Inspired: Keeping up with trends and fresh ideas to keep the work exciting and relevant.

What I love most about this work is how it lets me fit in perfectly, balancing technical precision with creativity in drawing and design—it’s pure magic. The technical side gives structure and purpose, while creativity adds soul and personality. Working with writers, Instructional Designers, editors, and programmers makes it even better—blending ideas and skills to create something both practical and inspiring, full of life and collaboration.

I take the ideas of writers, instructional designers, and programmers and thoughtfully analyze how to bring their visions to life. Through a creative and visual approach, I translate concepts into engaging designs that make learning experiences impactful, dynamic, and memorable, with the hope that it continues to inspire and energize the team.

As much as I love being an Art Director and it being my lifelong quest, there’s something intriguing about technical editing. It’s all about the details—fine-tuning language, ensuring clarity, and checking facts. I enjoy analyzing structure and making sure everything aligns while supporting the bigger picture. The mix of technical skill and creative vision in editing seems rewarding and satisfying.

I enjoy a variety of activities, including spending time with my wife and 3 kids, cooking, and barbecuing. I have a passion for drawing, watercolor painting, and being immersed in nature. Watching Jeopardy! with my wife is a favorite pastime, and I also enjoy listening to music and occasionally playing guitar. Building model airplanes and cars is another hobby, alongside my love for cars. Above all, I appreciate laughing and telling jokes, bringing a sense of joy to my life (and hopefully others). Additionally, I love coffee, have a knack for fixing things, and enjoy watching movies, especially for relaxation and entertainment.

Squirrels! Just kidding. Both dogs AND cats! We have 2 of each and would have more if we had the space and time. We did rescue and raise a baby squirrel and set it free when it became an adult. That was a pretty awesome experience.
